Award Ceremony 2022

On 27 October 2022 the winners of the Green Talents Competition 2022 were honoured at the third virtual Green Talents Award Ceremony. The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research awarded 25 young dedicated ambassadors of global sustainability who contribute to shaping a sustainable society worldwide.

This year, a high-ranking jury of German experts selected 25 up-and-coming researchers from 18 different countries. The Green Talents Virtual Science Forum took the awardees on an exciting virtual journey to explore Germany’s sustainability research landscape, network with renowned German researchers, and meet their fellow award winners and Green Talents alumni.

By having the chance to establish contacts with the German science community and to exchange exciting ideas with some of its key innovators, the awardees were able to lay the foundations for future cooperation. These opportunities are accompanied by an invitation to come to Germany in 2023 for a fully funded research stay at an institution of their choice.

At the conclusion of the Virtual Science Forum, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research honoured the Green Talents 2022 at a Virtual Award Ceremony on Thursday, 27 October 2022. Moderator Andrea Thilo led through a varied and diverse programme, ending with the virtual presentation of the certificates to the Green Talents 2022, who are spread across the world in different time zones.
