Margret Suckale is head of BASF's Sustainability Council, which steers the implementation of all activities related to the company's sustainability strategy.
Prior to this, Suckale was Senior Vice President Global HR Executive Management and Development at BASF since 2009. Suckale joined BASF after working for Deutsche Bahn, a transport and logistics company, since 1997. Here, she held several management positions, including, from 2005 until 2009, as Member of the Management Board, responsible for Human Resources and Services. Suckale started her professional career in 1985 with the oil and gas company Mobil Oil, where she worked in several positions in legal and human resources in and outside of Germany.
Margret Suckale was born in Hamburg, Germany, in 1956. After completing her postgraduate clerkship and working as a research associate at the University of Hamburg, she did an Executive Master of Business Administration from WHU, Vallendar, Germany, and Kellogg School of Management, Illinois, United States. Furthermore, she holds an Executive Master of European and International Law from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.
