Prof. Dr -Ing. Ina Schieferdecker studied mathematical computer science at Humboldt University Berlin and she received her PhD at the Technical University Berlin in 1994.
Since 1993 she has been working for the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems FOKUS and has been a professor on Model-based Development and Quality Assurance of Software based Systems at the Free University Berlin. At FOKUS, she established the Competence Centres: Testing, Interoperability and Performance (TIP), Modeling and Testing (MOTION) as well as the System Quality Center (SQC). Throughout her career she released over 120 scientific publications contributing to sustainable, efficient and reliable development of interconnected software-based systems. Additionally she had been abroad as a guest researcher at the International Computer Science Institute (ICSI), Berkeley/USA, the Centre de recherche informatique de Montréal (CRIM), Canada, at the University of Oslo, Norway as well as at the University of Queensland, Brisbane/Australia.
Prof. Dr Ina Schieferdecker is Vice president of the Association for Software Quality and Further Education (ASQF) and a member of the National Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech), among others.
